Life and the Ups and Downs

Life can sometimes be dull, unfair, strenuous, or sad. Each day brings new opportunity and it is how we perceive and utilize that opportunity to either benefit or drown ourselves. A day may come when life seems at its lowest but one must realize that better days do come and that life is boundless. I have been in the rut but I listened closely to my heart and it guided me to where I am today: happiness. We are human, fragile beings that seek what ever pleases us. Sometimes we might not find pleasure when we want it most but it does come. We must be patient and be decent people in an indecent time. We need to remain strong and positive more than ever before. Life is a great thing, look onward and have a good take on life.

Silence Runs Deep

Actions speak louder than words and so does silence.
Silence can be the most powerful enemy or the most useful ally.
It makes time stand still and emotions stir.
But life goes on and on changing by the second; thoughts upon thoughts.
It can grab hold and bring you to the darkest places of your mind or raise you to the pinnacle of your happiness.
It is the master of your mind the instrument of your soul.
Instantly the walls seem paper thin, everything coming in but nothing going out, I am the world's toy but also it's voice.
Suddenly it is clear, for the time being.

Fast Times at SDSU

Where has the time gone?! Life is moving incredibly fast but extremely well. I recently started working for a independent film company called IndyTrailers (Take a Look: http://indytrailers.com/). The job is amazing, we recently hosted the 26th Annual Santa Barbara Film Festival, it is actually going on right now......Besides work college is always amazing even the 18 units that I am so willingly taking. San Diego may have been flooding a couple weeks ago but SDSU's basketball team is on fire, 7th in the nation with a 21-1 record...almost tied the all time NCAA record of 21-0 which belongs to Ohio State. Until next time that's my take.

Back in the Skis Again

The snow in Northern California is flying and so am I, to Mount Shasta Ski Park that is. I am currently about to engage in my third season as a ski instructor at Mount Shasta Ski Park. This job is amazing, I get the opportunity to share and teach my greatest passion while making money, where else can you find that? Last year I achieved my Level 1 with PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America), it was well worth it. Yesterday I had first tracks in a place called the "pumpkin patch" a hidden haven with a plethora of fresh powder, I had some great lines as well as some stump jumping. It will be a great season, unfortunately I only get to experience it for a month before I fly south to San Diego State to indulge in school and the college lifestyle. Until next time I am James Hake and this was my take.
